Well I ended up in Corpus Christi, TX for the first half of 2014. I could hardly wait for the warmer weather to get out and look around, and get down to North Padre Island. There wasn't a lot of things to do in the area but what was there I tried to visit as much as I could. Being in the business that I am you never know when its time to leave so off I went. Eventually my son and his girlfriend came to visit me and off we went to do some site seeing. My sister and niece came down shortly after my son and again we spent a few days hanging out and did some shopping. We had a good time at the Beach in Padre - though the water wasn't as clean as I thought it was, it was still a nice view. Actually the beach water in Corpus was better and that's where I bought this coffee cup.
We went to the
USS Lexington Ship which was interesting to see all the war plans on top of the ship and information through out all the levels as you walk through them. Being the ship was at Sea for long periods of time they had their own doctors offices, Post office, chapel, etc. They had dummy models in place to show how it was in active duty. It was pretty cool to see. Lots of walking is involved so wear good padded shoes.
Riding Horses was tons of fun at
"Horses on the Beach" so If you get a chance to go then do at Sunset. I wouldn't go unless your already familiar with horses because they were a bit anxious when we went and one of them ended up scratching my leg during the ride. But overall it was fun.
