Life's A Beach in CC

Well I ended up in Corpus Christi, TX for the first half of 2014. I could hardly wait for the warmer weather to get out and look around, and get down to North Padre Island. There wasn't a lot of things to do in the area but what was there I tried to visit as much as I could. Being in the business that I am you never know when its time to leave so off I went. Eventually my son and his girlfriend came to visit me and off we went to do some site seeing. My sister and niece came down shortly after my son and again we spent a few days hanging out and did some shopping. We had a good time at the Beach in Padre - though the water wasn't as clean as I thought it was, it was still a nice view. Actually the beach water in Corpus was better and that's where I bought this coffee cup.

We went to the USS Lexington Ship which was interesting to see all the war plans on top of the ship and information through out all the levels as you walk through them. Being the ship was at Sea for long periods of time they had their own doctors offices, Post office, chapel, etc. They had dummy models in place to show how it was in active duty. It was pretty cool to see. Lots of walking is involved so wear good padded shoes.

Riding Horses was tons of fun at  "Horses on the Beach" so If you get a chance to go then do at Sunset. I wouldn't go unless your already familiar with horses because they were a bit anxious when we went and one of them ended up scratching my leg during the ride. But overall it was fun.

Happy New Year

Sam Houston Mug

Now this is a statue! This is a pic of me and a co worker on my last day of work. The 67 ft tall statue is the worlds tallest statue of an American hero. Sent from my iphone. Check out this link from the HuntsvilleVisitors Guide to get more info about this dudes History.

I really like this mug its not only cool looking but it will always remind of my time in Hunstville and all the fun I had with my co workers. If your ever driving down 45 to or from Houston be sure to stop by the visitors center located behind the statue and take some pictures!

Texan or Not- These Mugs Rock!

Well the time came for the project job that I was on came to an end, sad I have to say, because I truly enjoyed working with all the ladies in the Huntsville office. So, my new job has landed me in none other than downtown "Houston". Of all my years of working and living in Texas I have never worked in the big city. First time to be in one of their skyline buildings and its a little nerving as I don't really like heights, but as long as I'm not looking out one of the windows, I'm OK. I have heard about the tunnels underneath the city before and now I've had the chance to actually visit the underground mall (that's just what call it) and all I can say is wow! Check it out if your ever in downtown Houston. Its not open on the weekends as its primarily open for the business people downtown and has limited day hours during the week. The Houston Tunnels are connected for miles even to the parking garages, so if it rains...no worries.

Talk about excitement, these people love their football team: The Houston Texan's. I am showing one of the Texan mugs from my "Mugs and More" Store because its unique and I know all the guys will love them, and of course the gals too. The team is doing great and I'm proud to be one of their fans!

They Protect- They Serve- We give a big coffee "cheers"

Can you guess where this Mug came from? No, not the Army. While I was  working/traveling around in Oklahoma I spotted this Mug dining at a restaurant. Saw it a few times and then suddenly I was drawn to it. It reminded me of all the men and women in our military fighting for our freedom. At that moment I felt deeply moved and appreciative for all the men and women putting their lives in a vulnerable place knowing that any situation could arise. I just couldn't resist it, this mug jumped on me. So, if you're reading this and ever been in our Military or there now, well, it goes without saying..Thank You!  :)
My late husband was in the Army and now my son is thinking about going too. Just seeing the passion my husband had about giving himself to protect and serve our country is the greatest thing ever! So big thumbs up to Cracker Barrel restaurant for having them in their country store, and if you're close to one of their restaurants then maybe you can pick one up too and say "cheers" to our service men.

The Lone Star Rocks!

I love my Texas mug! Reminds me of all the places I've been in the Lonestar state just in the last year. I have driven all day long for hours and hours and was still in the state of Texas, lol. Its a really big state that offers so much beauty and family fun spots that its worth traveling through. Just to mention a few, there's Seaworld in San AntonioTexas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, Space Center Houston
My most recent destination has been in Huntsville, Texas. Home of the famous 67 foot Statue of Sam Houston which can be seen up to 6 miles away. He was the General of the San Jacinto war back in 1800's and now home of The Sam Houston State University too. There are many more things to see and do here, such as visiting the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, the Veterans Museum and the State Park. Check it out if you ever go to Houston. Just follow this link Huntsville, Texas

Moody Gardens/Galveston equals Awesome

Moody Gardens is the place to be if your in the south Texas area. I love this mug because of the style, it can actually hold a good amount of coffee in it. The regular size coffee cups don't seem to be big enough any more, I guess I've out grown them, lol. Anyway Moody Gardens Galveston Island is a great place to take the family. There's the Rainforest, The Aquarium  Pyramid, 3 D Theater, Ridefilm and so much more. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

In the same area you will find The Strand Historic District in Galveston. The coolest place ever to shop, dine and even take a horse and carriage ride too. We had so much fun there.

While there we also took a ride on the Ferry which was so much fun too. Its a short ride to Port Bolivar and during the ride there's usually dolphins jumping around the water and Seagulls flying around. While your vehicle is parked on the ferry you can get out and look around and feed the seagulls if you want.
